Gargantia on the Verdurous Planet's Teaser Promo Streamed

The official website for the Gargantia on the Verdurous Planet (Suisei no Gargantia) television anime began streaming a teaser promotional video on Friday.

The video relates how a boy from space arrives at Earth and encounters the floating fleet city Gargantia. It also highlights the staff: Manga artist Hanaharu Naruko (Shōjo Material, Kamichu!) is creating his first original character designs for an anime. Gen Urobuchi (Puella Magi Madoka Magica, Fate/Zero) of Nitroplus is supervising and writing the scripts. Taro Iwashiro (Red Cliff, Fullmetal Alchemist: The Sacred Star of Milos, live-action SHINOBI - Heart Under Blade and The Prince of Tennis) is scoring the music. Kazuya Murata (Fullmetal Alchemist: The Sacred Star of Milos) is directing at Production I.G. (Murata and Urobuchi collaborated on the original concept of the anime.)

The story begins in the distant future in the far reaches of the galaxy. The Human Galactic Alliance has been constantly fighting for its survival against a grotesque race of beings called "Hidiaasu." During an intense battle, the young lieutenant Redo (pictured above) and his humanoid mobile weapon Chamber (pictured below) are swallowed up into a distortion of time and space.

Waking from his artificially induced hybernation, Redo realizes that he has arrived on Earth, the planet on the lost frontier. On this planet that was completely flooded by the seas, people live in fleets of giant ships, salvaging relics from the seas' depths in order to survive.

Redo arrives on one of the fleets called Gargantia. With no knowledge of the planet's history or culture, he is forced to live alongside Amy, a 15-year-old girl who serves as a messenger aboard the Gargantia fleet. To Redo, who has lived a life where he knows nothing but fighting, these days of peace continue to surprise him.

The anime will premiere next April.

Confirmado que isto vai ser 1 cour. Vai ser lançado em 3 boxes de blu-ray, cada um com 4 episódios da série + 1 bónus. Portanto vamos ter 12 + 3 episódios, com apenas 12 a passar na TV. ´

O opening é da Chihara Minori e ela vai aparecer no cast da 3ª OVA !

Não sou mesmo nada apreciadora do género mecha + cenas intergaláticas. Só comecei a ver isto porque é do Sr. Gen Urobuchi.

A primeira metade foi fraquinha em termos de conteúdo. Espero que venha a ter importância no futuro (não me parece...) porque, caso contrário, terão sido 10 minutos de perda de tempo, já que aquilo era facilmente resumível em 2 minutos. A 2ª parte foi melhor e já não bocejei a vê-la (pelo menos não que tivesse dado conta). Não me parece uma maravilha mas sou fã deste senhor e por isso aguardo algo interessante à medida que isto vá avançando.

Primeiro ep viu-se, vamos ver como continua. Mas foi estranho ouvir o Sugita como mecha, lel. O ED(OP) foi bom.
