Barakamon Countryside Comedy Manga Gets Anime
 
Satsuki Yoshino's manga about city-bred calligrapher who moves to remote island; spinoff manga to launch in October
 
Square Enix's Gangan Online web manga magazine announced on Thursday that Satsuki Yoshino's Barakamon manga is getting an anime adaptation.
 
The slice-of-life comedy manga centers around the ikemen (handsome) 23-year-old calligrapher Seishū Handa, who moves to the remote Gotō Islands off the western coast of Kyushu. Seishū grew up in the city, and the manga chronicles Seishu's interactions with the people of the island, who drive tractors on public roads and don't enter through his front door when they visit. On top of that, Seishū's house becomes a hangout for the island's children.
 
Yoshino launched the manga in 2009 and Square Enix will ship the eighth compiled volume on September 21.
 
The collected volumes have sold more than 1.8 million copies. Yoshino will launch a spinoff manga, titled Handa-kun, in Square Enix's Monthly Shonen Gangan manga magazine starting with the magazine's November issue on October 12. The spinoff manga will take place six years prior to Barakamon, and will revolve around Seishū when he was in high school.

Sigo o manga, e é um bom slice of life, estou curioso também para ver o sotaque das personagens. A unica coisa que não me agrada nesta noticias é o manga ainda ter poucos capítulos, devem ter material mesmo a continha para fazer um cour.
