FCUL Anime Club

To everyone who attends FCUL/Faculdade de Ciencias da Universidade de Lisboa, I am starting up my own Anime Club right on campus with the help of AEFCL.

Right now, AEFCL wants to see if there's enough interest to warrant the clubs creation, thus, if you are interested, please head to the AEFCL secretary and ask for the anime club sign up sheet!

Please help by telling all your friends and spreading the word, you never know who might be a fellow weaboo/otaku!

Oh! Finally something like this at our dearest FCUL... it's about time.

Sadly, in my case, while I am still a student there I am not exactly... "there" (personal issues, please don't ask) so can't sign up for it yet (until said issues go away). Still, I wish you well and good luck!

Also some questions: what exactly are your plans for this club? What will/can the members do? It's just a friendly gathering or something more? Will there be a membership fee?

I am very sorry for your personal issues and hope they get resolved soon, no one likes having drama in their life. But thank you very much!

At the moment, the club will be an hour long, not sure about the schedule yet. The first half hour will be cultural, i'll be talking about japanese mythology and whatever else i've learned from watching anime. After that, we'll watch an episode of anime. I'm thinking of showing Soul Eater for the first meeting since it has the three pillars upon which all good Shonen anime stands. Action, Fanservice, and Comedy!

As for money, there won't be a membership fee or any of that. But I will make three seperate boxes for donations. First box will be for speakers, the ones I have are kinda old so i'm not sure how long they'll ask. Second box is for snacks, with whatever money is donated, i'll buy snacks for the club like cookies and juice among other things. Third box is just anime/what do you wanna learn suggestions and what not.

Again, hope your personal issues are resolved soon, and if possible, i'd like to meet up to chat =D

Just one thing... be careful of what you'll be showing. Remember that by law public exhibitions need approval from the right holders, even in an academic club. I suggest chatting with the cinema club at FLUL... I think there's one at FCUL too? It may be informal and very likely that none will annoy you, but better not risk any "hammer" from anyone, ne?
