Rage of Bahamut: Manaria Friends TV Anime Announced for 2016

Anime will adapt "Mysteria Academy" event within Rage of Bahamut social game

Cygames opened a website on Monday to announce that a new TV anime titled Rage of Bahamut: Manaria Friends will debut in Japan in 2016.

The TV anime will star Yōko Hikasa as Anne, the honor student princess, and Ayaka Fukuhara as Grea, a princess born from a dragon and a human. The anime will follow the two young women as students at the academy. The original event followed Anne, Grea, as well as Hanna, the student council president who hails from the Elf tribe.

Mutsumi Tamura, Lynn Star in Undefeated Bahamut Chronicle TV Anime
The official Twitter account for the television anime adaptation of writer Senri Akatsuki and illustrator Ayumu Kasuga's (Jōkamachi no Dandelion) Saijaku Muhai no Bahamut (Undefeated Bahamut Chronicle) light novel series revealed the show's main cast on Sunday. The cast is as follows (Note: name romanizations are not official):
      Mutsumi Tamura as Lux Arcadia
      Lynn as Lisesharte Atismata

      Yurika Kubo as Philuffy Aingram
      Risa Taneda as Celistia Ralgris
      Ari Ozawa as Airi Arcadia
The account also revealed a new visual featuring the six main characters, and also revealed that the series will premiere in January 2016.
Masaomi Ando (Gakkō Gurashi!, Muv-Luv Alternative: Total Eclipse, White Album 2) is directing the series at Lerche (Assassination Classroom, Monster Musume, Danganronpa The Animation). Yuuko Kakihara (Heaven's Lost Property, Unbreakable Machine-Doll) is handling the series composition, Keiko Kurosawa (Assassination Classroom, Re:_Hamatora) is designing the characters for animation, and Orange (Accel World, Terror in Resonance, Tiger & Bunny) is producing the 3D CG animation.
The story of the light novel series revolves around Lux, a former prince of an empire named Arcadia that was overthrown via a rebellion five years earlier. Lux accidentally trespasses in a female dormitory's bathing area, sees the kingdom's new princess Lisesharte naked, and incurs her wrath. Lisesharte then challenges Lux to a Drag-Ride duel. Drag-Rides are ancient armored mechanical weapons that have been excavated from ruins all around the world. Lux used to be called the strongest Drag-Knight, but now he's known as the "undefeated weakest" Drag-Knight because he will absolutely not attack in battle. After his duel with Lisesharte, Lux ends up attending the female-only academy that trains royals to be Drag-Knights.
